When War, Famine, or Disasters break out, you can be reduced to nothing
but what you have on hand in an instant. No power, no cell, no internet.
Anyone who's ever been in an earthquake can tell you that. There's
no place to run in an earthquake, so you need to be familiar with some
basic's of life and a Bible. Everyone knows the end is near, even
strangers at Wal-Mart know something is up..... So Let's begin with basic necessities. What are they, and do you have them. There are four (4) basic needs of life. Water, Shelter, Food, and Fire. You can live 30 days without food. But most can only live about 3 days without water.... Shelter is a basic and can be constructed from simple materials if needed. Fire, well that goes without saying, you need it for warmth and cooking, purifying water and some other things. If you're stuck outdoors, water and shelter should come first. Water safety is something most think they can get at Wal-Mart in a bottle. When I was growing up, if someone had said "you'll be paying $1 dollar for a bottle of water someday" I would have called them nuts... Well those days are here and we all know it. So water needs are the number one item on a survival list. You can filter it, or treat it with Clorox or a tablet to purify it. Filtering is usually the best way as it gets rid of germs in many cases. Clorox will work also just like the tablets do. They kill germs, but neither do anything about contaminates. A filter can help there too. Look online and take notes on how to use Clorox aka bleach as a water purifier. Boiling water can take care of some contaminates too along with the germs. Keep a jug or bottle around for water. Camping supplies are a good place to look for rugged outdoor types. Get some books on editable plants so you won't starve. Get a book/s on backpacking even if you don't plan on it. Those books provide a lot of info on how to live simple lives. More to come... |
